My Commitment to the American People
Jerry Ralph Curry
Major General, U.S. Army Retired

As President of the United States of America, I will seek to lead this great nation with the intent of the original founders and with reverence for all those who have gone before us, sacrificing their lives to protect our freedoms.

I will make it my first and foremost aim to protect this country from the evil attacks of fanatical men and women.  In order to do that I will seek to bolster homeland security, to strengthen the military, and to increase our intelligence so that we can stop nuclear, germ, and chemical weapons before they reach our shores.

I will also seek to build, mend, and restore relationships with all other nations. I will work toward establishing peace agreements with neighbors around the world. The United States was founded as a peace loving people, a nation that sought to restore hope, freedom, and opportunity for its citizens.  That will be my aim as President of this country.

I will work on global initiatives that will support peace and the defeat of global terrorism.  I will work to replace fear with hope, injustice with justice, ignorance with knowledge.

For the people of this nation, we will seek to support health initiatives which provide preventive medicine and care.  We will work much harder to create a healthy environment where our children, our grandchildren, and our great grandchildren can grow up to live healthy lives. We will support creative initiatives to ensure that all of our citizens have the health care they need.

In a nation such as ours, no child, no elderly person, no student, no individual should be without the health care they need.  As President of this country, I will work to make sure that every citizen has the best health care possible.

We will also work to restore a just society where those who steal are held accountable to restore that which they have stolen. We will encourage and provide incentives for the wealthy of this nation to give back to those under their leadership, to their communities, to their country, and to others around the world.

We will work to establish a debt free nation and debt free citizens. We know that when the nation is economically healthy, it has the freedom to progress and flourish.  We do not want this nation, its citizens, or future generations to be in financial bondage.

Therefore we will work to live within our means as a nation and encourage the people of this country to do the same.  Additionally, we will seek for ways to become more productive and prosperous in the global marketplace in which we live.

The U.S. is fast losing its manufacturing base. The best way to create wealth is to make things. In recent years, forty percent of our manufacturing jobs and capabilities have been globalized out of the country. We must make a concerted effort to re-capture our manufacturing base and the jobs associated with it.

This requires that we support the strengthening of education at all levels from elementary schools to higher education.  We will support the development of curricular initiatives which foster literacy, history, music, art, science, mathematics, and great literature.  We will also support the development of computer education realizing that it is a major form of communication in the twenty-first century.  We will also encourage curricular initiatives which teach our children how to think critically about the role of media and technology in their lives.

We will support all aspects of human life from the unborn to the elderly.  We will not allow our great society to denigrate or destroy human life.  We will work hard to make sure that the elderly in this country live their final years with the dignity, respect, honor, and resources that they deserve.  We will also work to make sure that those who have fought for this nation have their needs met whether those needs are medical or financial.  And, we will give due honor and respect to those who have died serving this country.

We will work to create a civil society and that civil society needs to be modeled in the political realm.  We will work with all concerted effort to focus the attention of lawmakers, congressmen, and senators on the issues before us and not on political agendas whether they are Democratic or Republican.  We will work to restore a compassionate, loving, and caring culture within our nation.

We will seek to care for the foreigners living among us but at the same time require that foreigners follow the legal process in entering and living in this country. As an English-speaking nation, we will require that those who become citizens of this country learn how to speak the English language.  We will work to provide English education for all those legally entering and becoming citizens of this country.  And, at the same time we will encourage the teaching of other languages in our schools.

We will support and uphold the teaching of the principles of democracy at all levels of the educational process realizing that a democratic form of government is the only form of government that offers the individual citizen the opportunity for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness without the infringement of human rights by the control of a tyrant or a dictator.

These are the principles that I will work for as President of the United States.  I will work in concert with those who share these values and I will work in the spirit of collegiality with those who share different values.

Quotes:

"I entered the race for the presidency early this year because I felt that I offered what so many people were calling for in a new candidate one who was a true conservative and whose background, experience and stand on the issues would adequately address America¹s problems, protect us from the uncommon dangers we face, secure our borders, preserve our liberties, and..."   more

"I will walk hand in hand with those whose views are similar to mine, and I pledge to work in a spirit of collegiality with those whose views are different."

"War is violence, killing, death and destruction.  It should be resorted to as a very … very … last resort, when all else has failed. The United States should never embark on a war unless it is willing to win it in as short a time as possible."
